Quote for the Day

I found this great quote to share ...

"Live spherically in many directions, never lose your childish enthusiasm & things will come your way..."
Frederico Fellini
(1920 - 1993)

Sounds like a good one to me!

Cloud Conundrum

I got this shot on Saturday in Middletown....I am always amazed how the clouds form to
create some amazing images...God does paint well don't you think?!!!

Just Another Sunday Morning

Early Morning Sunrise...casting a golden glow on the day...

Most People consider the Gull a dirty scavaging bird...as I watched them preen...I just thought they were cute and whimsical....

This lone Gull stood on the frozen pond admiring his image ....

This lone Duck in the middle of the Gulls gave me quite a few laughs....He glided in the air so gracefully likely anticipating a soft water landing....he encountered ice and slid a good six to eight feet before landing in the water...I just have to wonder what was going through his mind as he experienced that....

I think that Swans are so very regal...I love how they create their own flotilla...

All of the pictures herein this post were taken in the pond off of Matthews Street in Goshen.

Early Morning....

"The Early Bird Catches the Worm"...
In this case I got a great shot of the
ascending Sun.....

found these fine feathered friends in a stream in the Town of Wallkill apparently
enjoying a brisk early morning swim.

The setting was so pretty....I image the
water was intensely cold!

Princess & Pirates

Cupcakes are so popular these days! If you have a little princess that you would like cupcakes for her special day (sometimes just easier than cake) or a fierce little pirate that needs a sweet bounty...let me know...they can be made in any color, with any type of filling and of course a varied assortment of cake flavors to work with your occasion.

Thank you gift

I love my job and sometimes it is just really really stressful!
I am always amazed when someone takes the time
to say thank you. This lovely arrangement was
brought to me by a lovely lady who I was able to
help with a real estate matter. I never expect something
like this but am always so grateful when someone
does take the time to realize how much you put into
doing a good job for them. I often feel like my clients
become friends and are more than just clients!
Thank you my friend!

Breakfast on the Run

I was out and about doing errands early one morning and I came across this squirrel enjoying his Dunkin Donuts on top of a garbage can in the center of Goshen at the park along side the street. Minus the coffee he looked quite content!
I was actually lucky enough to get this shot out the car window, I was reluctant to get closer lest I scare him away!

Inspiration Moon Rise & Sunrise

Inspired by the seminar I attented given by Nick Zungoli of Exposures Gallery in Sugar Loaf.....
We stopped driving home last evening in Tuxedo to take a Picture of the Moon Rising....the parking lot of the Tuxedo Train Station provided a safe uninterrupted place to grab a great shot of the newly rising moon.

Further inspired I got up this morning early to take sunrise pictures. This shot was taken from the highway leading into Sugar Loaf near the Cold Spring Farm looking up the mountain. The sky is so amazing blue!

This shot through the trees was taken in the safety of the parking lot of Arden Hill & Elant in Goshen....I love the glow of the early rising sun.

This shot was taken in the parking lot of the abandoned barn on the way to Chester off
17M just before the "often photographed farm". I love how the sun peeks through and glows!

The Lycian in Sugar Loaf had it's Festival of the Trees on Saturday.
My friend Sarah who volunteers there as a docent and acts and performs in their productions was the elf to assist Santa with the children being photographed. Santa was great....the Elf however was the cutest and so good with the kids!!! I'm kinda partial to this very talented young lady, truly glad she is my friend!
Moving on to view the trees....many were lovely....my favorite was this elegant lady...so cleverly done! The Festival of the Trees was a lovely inexpensive way to spend an hour or so!

Triple Layered Quilted Chocolate Mousse Cake

I made this cake after being inspired by "The Cake Boss" Buddy of Carlo's Bakery. I love the quilted look of the cake with edible pearls.
This cake was chocolate, with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate icing and chocolate Fondant that tasted like tootsie rolls! It was yummy. A great cake for a small gathering or special occassion. It can be made with any flavor or color or filling or flowers!

Isn't this an amazing picture?!
I recently joined a photography club. This was sent to me in an e-mail. The picture is over 100 years old and is in color! It was actually called an 'autochrome plate'. Truly amazing. Such a great photo! There are many others which you can view at this website: http://citynoise.org/article/10598 it is definitely worth a look. We can definitely see how far we have come in our technology for cameras and computer touch up programs such as photoshop and picassa etc etc.

Here are two examples of cakes that I have done recently. I made the above mini cakes for a get together with some of my scrapbook buddies, they can be made in any flavor and filled with any filling, then they can be iced in ganache in a color that works for your occassion.
The second tiered cake was made for a good friend's son and future daughter-in-law for their engagement dinner. It was a white cake with fresh strawberry filling with white icing and white fondant finished with hand made burgundy roses and leaves. All the brides favorites! Her future mother-in-law, my friend did this all as a surprise for them and boy were they surprised! Everyone, including me was pleased with how it turned out! To my amazement the restaurant owner of the place that they held the dinner commented that he had never scene such a pretty cake and took my card! Now let's hope that turns into some future business! What fun!
Sooooo any kind of cake for any kind of occassion can be created especially for you!

Nick Zungoli and his photographs

I had the opportunity to go to a lecture last evening given by Nick Zungoli from Exposures Gallery in Sugar Loaf Art & Craft Village .... check him out at www.exposures.com absolutely amazing! I have been a big fan for a long time. The picture herein is one of my favorites and extremely popular as it is a mural at Stewart Airport in Newburgh.
The lecture last evening was so wonderful. Mr. Zungoli is such a professional explaining very technical information in plain laymans language! It was extremely generous of him to share his talent and knowledge with us!
I was so glad that we got there early and got a great seat, he had a standing room only audience!
