Insect ATC

My group is having another swap, this time
the theme is insects. So a few techniques
are required. Started with a Bazzil Base edged
in Gold and topped that with an alcohol inked
glossy paper on which I stamped a number
of insects: bee, butterflies, ant, beetle and a
lady bug, edged with layer with a brown
chalk ink...I printed on clear acetate the
definition of insects and adhered to the base
with copper eyelets, added my backer with
info and an ATC was created. Can't wait to
see what the other ladies have done....have to cool my jets for a
few weeks till the hostess has them all and trades them out!
Enjoy

Photo Ops

Sometimes you just need a little help in
getting things done! These nice gentlemen
were helpful in allowing me to get into the
track on Friday to take the pictures of the
horses that I posted earlier in the week.
Thank you Prices!

Our Justice System

While we may not feel that Justice was done for little Caylee Anthony, I am pleased to see that our Justice System works. Our forefathers designed a system where all men and women can get a trial before a Jury of their peers.
My heart still is saddened by the death of this lovely small child.

Summer Barbecue Cake ~ July 4th, 2011

In keeping with the Red, White & Blue Theme of the
weekend, I made this Strawberry and Blueberry cake
to take to a barbecue that I was invited to.
I was pretty pleased with the results!

I loved the pan, it has such a pretty mold on the side
which looks so much like basket weave. A butter cake
which was sinfully rich, berries and glaze topped with
freshly made whipped cream....delicious! Not a crumb
remained!

Summer Challenge ~ Feathers

I posted the lovely papers and images
that our group leader sent us to create
our Challenge cards almost as soon as I
got them.....

After some consideration, here is what I created.
I just loved the womam in the image....a bunch of
copies later and here she is. Lots of Layers, glossy
accents, flower soft a feather and some glitz and
I thought she came out pretty well!

A Day at the Track

Spotted the Horses running at the track while
driving by on my way somewhere else...had to turn
around and come back for some shots. They are so
magnificent! This guy when he came out of the barn
spotted me where I was standing with the camera and
wanted to get closer....his trainer had other ideas and
got him going quickly through his paces....he was such a
beauty!

And he really had the moves....he was prepping for the
Grand Sire Stakes Races which happen every year during
the July 4th weekend celebrations in our town which happens
to be the Home of the Historic Track.
