Em was torn between Mocha Cake with Mocha Frosting and Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese and White Chocolate frosting....

Sooooo Mocha it was to congratulate her for making the Dean's List.

Red Velvet with Cream cheese and white chocolate frosting with hand made sugar flowers to Celebrate her birthday!

A Challenge of Carrot Cake.....

I usually am pretty quick to accept a challenge!

At my Lightroom 3 Class the instructor challenged me with the "best" Carrot Cake....

"Kate's Komely Karrot Kake" v Karl's Karrot Kake".....

He dropped the Gauntlet....well of course I had to pic it up!

Here are my Blue Ribbon Cake Carrot Cupcakes which I made....dusted out my favorite recipe which I have had since childhood for the challenge....luscious carrot cake with White Chocolate Cream Cheese frosting topped with homemade chocolate carrots! YUM!

Now I always give credit where credit is due! Karl's Karrot Kake was very delicious as well.

A great class and great snacks with wonderful new friends!!!!

Getting Ready for the BIG Day!!!!

St. Paddy's Day will be here in 17 short days!

Everybody's Irish on St. Paddy's Day is the
saying....keeping that in mind....I have started working on my cupcakes and candies!

Two shades of green Milk Chocolate
are what comprises the candies.....

These cute cupcakes were made with
Mint Chocolate Cake and then Mint
Butter cream frosting topped with
the chocolates!

These "practice" ones went over
pretty well!

Watch out for the Leprechauns and
Enjoy St.Paddy's Day!

My friend the Boston Red Sox Fan had a birthday
yesterday....For him I created this cool
baseball diamond with bases an grass and bats and
a ball, the back fencing and of course the infamous "B" for
The Sox! Fun!

The cake was vanilla, the frosting vanilla butter cream, Will's favorite!

White chocolate dyed to make cool fencing...

Valentine's Day

Sweets for the sweetest...these little petite cupcakes were chocolate devil's food and topped with vanilla buttercream icing and a small sugar heart and sprinkles.

The perfect answer for those of us who really
just want a "taste"!

Regular sized cupcakes....lemon cake, filled with raspberry preserves and topped with Lemon butter cream icing, finished off with spinkles and a sugar heart.

Yummy!

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day!!!

Another Birthday Cake

Here's how it all starts....the cake....chocolate and vanilla....

The request was for a birthday cake for thirty people....the only caveat was that it needed to have the Brooks Brothers Logo on it and and Large forty.....hhhhmmmm where to begin....

Then the construction begins....Three layers of alternating Vanilla and chocolate...and vanilla buttercream icing...the hanging sheep/ram is actually the Brooks Brothers Logo...add a two layer Chocolate and Vanilla 40, create blue milk chocolate stars and a 'Tiffany's' colored bow...

and a cake is born!

add a few "40"s on the edges to solidify the milestone and it works~

A good time was had by all at the party and the cake went over well with the birthday "boy"!

Happy Birthday Scott!!!!

Another Present Post Christmas....

Made this scarf for a good friend! She found a cute hat in NYC and I decided to make her a scarf to go with it! The pattern is called Potato Chip.

It was fun to make, can't wait to see her face when she opens it.

I have to say a big thank you to my friend Yvonne who got me back crocheting and knitting again...I had forgotten how relaxing it can be!
