The Clocks of Goshen

Goshen is Famous for so very many things, but did you know that we have Four very

prominent clocks?

The first and foremost and longest prevailing clock in Goshen tops the Steeple at the Goshen Presbyterian Church...everyone knows this one! It's a landmark!

Next we have the Clock atop the Griffith Building on the Corner of Scotchtown Avenue and Route 207 pretty easy to catch....

Recently added and not to be sneezed at is our lovely post clock near the Village

Police Station and the Post Office...a

nice one!

But last but not least this new arrival made it's appearance this year! It's a beauty!

This one you have to tell me where it appears! Some of my local followers may be able to figure it out. A small prize will be awarded to the one who tells me where it is!

I'll Post the answer on Friday of this week!

Enjoy the Clocks of Goshen! As you know I love clocks!

These are so appealing to see each and everyday!

Happy Memorial Day!

A day for remembering those who have fought to defend our great country past and present! We are here and walk free because of these many men and women!

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

These cupcakes were my contribution to the barbecue that I was invited to.

I was very pleased that they came out well! The kids and adults alike loved them!

They were lemon cake with raspberry jam filling topped with Lemon Butter Cream icing which was colored red white and blue!

My Office Walls....Finally!

After a year of being in my office...I have finally started to add things to my walls....I had the entire office painted white so I could expand from there

with riots of color~ I

made two pieces which

I previously shared

here from Graphic 45 Paper and lots of

Tim Holtz empheria.

Took an old Clock and re-hab'd it along with the light switch plate...they look great!

My other wall has my Prima Mosaics and some quotes from Thomas Paine, including one that was a favorite of George Steinbrenner: Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way!

It's really starting to come together and it makes me happy!

Christmas in May?

I haven't been able to exchange this Christmas gift with my dear friends (Pictured) until just the other day!

Grunge board swirls colored with Tattered Angel Mist, matching color for the flowers that I sprayed as well. Add a Tim Holtz key and alittle ribbon along with a clear acetate ribbon which was alcohol inked and it went well with this off white painted frame.

They loved it! Blue being one of the absolutely favorite colors!

A Visitor

A surprise visitor to our office!

We left our front door open this morning and in walked "bird". Gracefully checking us out politely visiting without besmirching our lobby of leaving any "presents".

Looked us over and walked out...interesting for a Law Office! Usually we get "jail birds".

If you notice his/her feet, there are two bands which indicates he is a racing bird who apparently lost his way or decided to rest for a while. I learned alot about this sport through a "birder" friend who stopped by to check the bird out! It made for an interesting day! A little excitement in the office!

Mosaic Continued,,,,,

Another Prima Mosaic...this one was a really cool street scene. I did alot of relief work on this one too. Cut out all the little windows, sprayed it with Zana Sprays, used a ton of embellishments. The picture doesn't due it justice, poor lighting.

It's kind of a night scene....I may attempt another one with a Daylight sky...not sure yet.

Prima Mosaic

Prima makes the most amazing papers that you can paint, color, emboss, distress, cut up, spray with Tattered Angel Mists, Zana Sprays, Adorondack Ranger Sprays, you name it these papers fit the bill!

So what I did was make some resist with crayons, embossing powers, wax imprints, then I sprayed it with Zana Sprays, and added some stickles. I then cut it into the squares and trimmed til I was happy and it would fit in the frame...add a few embellishments, pop the squares with foam tape for dimension...and viola...mosaic...not the best picture because of the lighting...but very pretty in person....one of a kind original....like it!

Mini Frame

Isn't this frame idea a cute one? Made it awhile back and unearthed it in the ever evolving craft room.

Started me thinking on an upcoming project of a similar nature that I am planning for some Tim

Holtz empheria that I have been collecting.

Keep you posted on the new project which will be completed sometime real soon and posted.

Iris' Equals Happiness!

Not sure if it's the rain, all the snow we had, or just a gift for the year....but my Iris' are having a fabulous year!

This Veregated Purple one is amazing! Lots and Lots of blooms!

This two toned Burgundy and yellow one showed it's happy face for the first time in a few years.

The weather with our winters hasn't been too pleasant with the start and stop of some of the Spring.... so exciting to see it's return!

These periwinkle ones are my all time favorite and much like the burgundy and yellow ones, they have

not put in an appearance for a few years...seeing them in bud the last few days and finally today seeing them open has made me sooooo very happy...

ssshhh don't tell the others that these are my

favorite!

These peach and white ones are really pretty this year also. These seem hardier and they have put in an appearance yearly, along with the previously posted ones that have already bloomed and gone!

Seeing all these lovely faces makes all the hard work of planting them all worthwhile!

Hope your gardens are doing well! Color and Iris' equals happiness for me!

Chunky ATC Swap

One of my groups had a Chunky ATC Swap
not too long ago. It was something different!
a piece of 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 by 1 1/2 piece of wood
which was cut to size from a longer larger
piece of wood....then paint and decorate to your
own desire. Mine is the single one which I sent in
and the three others are the ones I got back in trade.
They look good in my craft room, wouldn't want to
trade this type of ATC too often though, storage
issues present!

A Swap for Valentine's Day....

In going through and trying to organize my craft room and came across these two beautiful hearts that I received in a swap. My friend Christine is an amazing Graphic Designer and organizes some amazing swaps that I participate in from time to time. Last year she did a "Secret Valentine Swap" lots of fun. She organized the group and sent you information about who your "valentine" was....your job...find some fun and wonderful things to send...create them yourself or purchase them and send to your "valentine"!
My luck was amazing...Christine was my secret Valentine...amongst tons of wonderful valentiney things were these two handmade items! Cool right?! I did say she was incredibly talented!

These will be finding a cool place to be in my room.

Thanks Christine for your creativity and inspiration! You are amazing!

More Scrap Room containers...

Bright and Cheery is what I love to see
in my environment...don't get me wrong I love antiques and grunge and altered art in almost any form, but cheery has it's place in
my surroundings too!

I actually did a class with this box a few years ago....again a wood box painted...some pretty bright paper, silk flowers, brads, buttons and it turned into a great place for me to keep the little chalk inks I use regularly handy.

CD Disc Album

I can't claim this as an original idea....in cleaning and straightening up my craft room...I came across this little album. It was something I made in an altered Art class a few years ago...what a fun way to put those old CD's to use and re-cycle them into something pretty! A little alcohol ink, some pretty paper, a few cool stamps and distress ink....so cool an interesting gift or a place for your own photos....

Scrap Room Accessories....

My craft room is an every evolving thing for me...

I have been organizing forever it seems...

I have been creating things with lovely color to be

practical and look happy and cheerful in their usage as well....I painted and covered a little balsa wood

container added some embellishments and filled it with my paint brushes....looks cute and is certainly practical!

Mother's Day Continued....

After getting some great pictures of the Geese...I continued down to the Pond in the middle of the village....the water was so tranquil with just the fountain moving...it made for a great opportunity to get a nice reflection of it and the trees surrounding it...loved the tranquity of it all!

Not a bad way to spend your Mother's Day morning with a little peace and tranquity!

Mother's Day May 8th, 2011

Took me a bit to get back to the Camera and upload these....I got up early on Mother's Day and see what I could find that would be interesting. I decided to try my luck with the Sunrise at the Pond in Monroe....While driving down there the Sun decided to rise before I was ready...I pulled off to the side of the road and this beautiful sunrise was what I got between the cars buzzing past me...amazing that others decided to get up that early on a Sunday!

Nothing was too interesting in my usual spot so I moved further down and found this family of Canadian Geese having breakfast together at the edge of a different pond. I was amazed how close they let me get! The gosselings were so adorable!

Ater their breakfast they all took to the water for a swim...I loved the follow the leader look and the reflection on the pond was so cool!

All in all a great Morning for me!

This was a Zentangle ATC which I submitted for the swap. I am not much for drawing as most Zentangles are hand done.

I found a pretty example and cut out and layered and laquered and embellished and the submitted them....We

Shall see how it goes when the swap comes back! Keep you posted.

The Garden Saga Continued

My Beautiful Purple Iris' finally decided to join the white ones....love the glorious color! These really make me happy!

My Garden....

It's always amazing to me what returns after the winter...and of course after the deer ravage what first starts to sprout... This is my one lone tulip....the deer have over the years managed to eat and discourage them from returning....I expect by digging out the bulbs....let's see if it gets a chance to bloom.....

The Start of my bluebells....they are so pretty and delicate when they finally blossom in full...

Steam Punk Debutante continued.....

More of our Favorite Tim Holtz and Graphic 45.....my first wall hanging needed a mate
same techniques and empheria ... and a great compatible was born....the picture doesn't due it justice due to the poor lighting in my office and a camera hissy fit.

Steam Punk Debutante

Inspired by Tim Holtz and the wonderful Graphic 45 Papers, I decided to make some wall Art for my Office. I started with a Floating canvas which I painted Jade to bring out the colors in the paper....add a little Tim Holtz gears, tickets, spinners, inks, some Tattered Angel Mist...paper flowers and a few other bits of emphera and I was a very happy camper....this is going to look great on my wall! It's 12 x 12 just the right size~now I need a compatible....tune in tomorrow!

I was cleaning my craft room the other day and found this book which makes me happy and which I taught as a class a few years back as you can see in the details of the picture....

It's a fun little book with bright happy colors! I actually have a few kits left if anyone is interested....e-mail me krazy4kroppin@aol.com if you are interested.

Spring/Summer Wreath

I love bright brilliant color! I was inspired to create this wreath having seen something similar to it in one of the local box stores. Since I had everything except the ribbon at home...it was inexpensive and colorful! It really brightens up the door to my office.

Altered Items...Alcohol Inks....

I love alcohol Inks! I was first introduced to them watching a demonstration by my now friend Ellen. I had heard of Ellen and her talent and creativity for a long time before I met her and before I ever go to see her demonstrate anything! She used to work at AC Moore locally, which is where I saw her demo alcohol inks for the first time. Her
demos are like taking a class! Amazing! I ran to the shelves and picked up the items necessary, inks, blending solution, glossy paper etc etc....went home and immediately started creating things with great sucess all due to her inspiring demo!

Now several years later and lots of alcohol ink later, I am still in love with the process and the techniques~ This switch plate lives in my newly re-painted office....it was white once upon a time and aged to a old beige color...you know the color you have seen it before...my walls in my office are now a pristine white white! So in the theme of economy and recycling...and because I don't like "aged" white on my new white walls, I took the switchplate home and alcoholed it in a polished stone including the screws and got a this wonderful out come....I am in love with it!

In keeping with my theme.....I took my "old clock" off the wall and alcohol inked it as well! I love it! Makes me and my walls very very happy!

Thanks Ellen!

Wedding Card

June Weddings are right around the corner....This card is very simple created with a stamping up image. Not my design....made it at a card party....I love it for it's simplicity!
